International Teochew Doctors Forum (ITDForum), is an annual academic event organized by the International Teochew Doctors Association. Since 2013, the Forum is held among the affiliated Teochew doctoral groups. ITDForum aims to provide a platform for professional experts to discuss and disseminate state-of-the-art research and technologies, and to promote and enhance collaboration between young researchers and the industries.
The 4th International Teochew Doctors Forum (ITDForum2016) will be held at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center on 9 – 10 Dec 2016 in Singapore. It is jointly organized by Singapore Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan and the International Teochew Doctors Association with support from the Chinese and Oriental Language Information Processing Society (COLiPS). With the theme of “Smart Future: Opportunities and Challenges”, ITDForum2016 aims to promote collaborations among Teochew technologists and entrepreneurs in the area of smart applications, and to foster closer tie between research, development and commercialization. Held in conjunction with the 2nd Teochew Festival, ITDForum2016 will be part of an extravaganza to showcase all walks of the Teochew life.
The Forum is honored to have Prof Phua Kok Khoo, President of Singapore-China Friendship Association as the chief forum moderator. The invited keynote speakers include Mr. George Yeo, former Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry, Health and Communication the Arts; Dr. Haifeng Wang, Vice President of Baidu; Prof. Andrew Yao, the Turing Awardee in 2000; Prof. Teck Seng Low, Chief Executive Officer of the National Research Foundation, Singapore; Dr. Khee Giap Tan, Co-Director of the Asia Competitiveness Institute, National University of Singapore; and Dr. Tit Meng Lim, Chief Executive of Science Centre Singapore. The invited speakers will congregate to speak and debate about the enabling smart technologies of the future, the prospects and impacts on society, culture and daily living. The Forum is expected attract more than 200 Teochew PhD graduates, senior technologists and entrepreneurs around the globe to participate and to exhibit their smart technologies.
